All F&T Goodwin vehicles have now been fitted with a green beacon light, which flashes when the driver’s seat belt is fastened. This latest safety initiative is yet to become standard, but the company was keen to take the initiative following the lead from David Wilson Homes.
Dumper trucks were the initial priority but these have now been joined by the entire fleet.
F&T Goodwin Director Cathal O’Boyle comments: “Safety is our number one priority so we are always looking for ways to improve our fleet and procedures. By having an external flashing green light that is visible for all to see, everyone on site can be reassured that drivers are secured into their vehicles.”
These green beacons are fitted very visibly – typically on the roller bar of dumper trucks and rollers and on the roof of airmasters and pavers.
